{{Sample Post }}He could hear the waves crashing on the shore in the distance. The pale moonlight shone brightly but could not penetrate through the thick canopy of the dark jungle. However, for the boy who was a pirate darkness was his friend. Even though it concealed his enemies from him, it concealed him from them as well. Except for the occasional nocturnal animal spotting the boy, he was left alone to trek through the dangerous wilderness. He was not at all scared of the land, but he would rather be on the ship. However, he had a mission that he could not abandon even in death. He vowed to find the captain, the man who took him in and raised him, the man he just began to call his own father, and hopefully soon. He hated to imagine what could happen if he got there too late, but where to go?
He could only begin in the jungle, where the frightened villagers claimed these creatures came from. Against their protests he had passed through the thick barrier of trees and began his search. None of the crew wanted to tag along, though most of them had been injured. The others were simply too frightened. The boy asked some of the villagers to stand guard over the ship. Pirates, including himself, weren't to be trusted, especially when the captain wasn't around. When he arrived into a small clearing, he could see a small source of light up ahead. With caution he approached it and discovered that it was a small party of humans carrying several lanterns and a large trunk. He licked his top lip at the idea of it being treasure, but his captain was more valuable. He looked carefully at the gang, searching for their leader. Then he found it.
It was not even human. the boy could not even think of what it was, so he was confounded by his finding. It had a low booming voice as it ordered the men to be careful with their trunk. But the boy was no longer interested when he heard another noise further into the jungle. It sounded like someone calling for help. When it was clear, he darted across the beaten path and followed the voice, believing it was the captain's. He followed it for some distance, but soon he found himself lost in the midst of the trees. He heard so many noises that he couldn't drown them all out. He was barely able to hear the voice and turned, feeling confident he was heading in the right direction. But then a wooden plank found its way on his forehead, and the next thing he knew, everything turned black.
